This summer is all about being healthy and cooking with fresh and local (if possible) products. Here is the recipe to make delicious seeds crackers, perfect for a sweet breakfast, for a savory afternoon snack, or for a cool aperitif.

Handy Healthy Seeds to create the perfect crusty Snack


Today we are offering a recipe that is 100% healthy, made of different seeds, oatmeal and a little bit of spelt flour. Have a nice snack this summer without feeling guilty (just remember that all will depend on how you garnish them. But no worries, we’ll give you tips on how to keep it low on calories πŸ˜‰)

Ingredients for around 36 little crackers:

50g of chia seeds
30g of sesame seeds
30g of pumpkin seeds
75g of spelt flour
75g of oatmeal
1 coffee spoon of salt
2 coffee spoons of olive oil
4dl of water

Keep one coffee spoon of each of the different seeds on the side for later. Pour the remaining in a bowl with the oatmeal and the salt. Add the water and the oil. Mix it up. Let it rest for 10 mn (the oatmeal will have time to absorb the water and make the preparation a bit thicker)
Turn the oven on (170Β° C). Pour the preparation on the baking tray (covered by grease-proof paper) so to obtain a rectangle of about 32×40 cm, and a thickness that’s consequent over the surface of the baking tray. Add the seeds you left aside. Cook for 15 mn, then take it out of the oven to cut slices with a knife (about 36 slices depending on what size you want your crackers to be). Put it back in the oven for about 50 mn. Let it cool down.

Eating crackers alone might prove a little too dry, so you can garnish your crackers however you want. It can be a sweet snack with butter and jam or cream and fruits for example. In this recipe, I’ve decided to use the crackers for an aperitif. I’ve decorated my crackers with:
– Cream cheese (Philadelphia) & smoked trout
– Cream cheese (Cantadou) & smoked salmon
– Avocado & shrimps
– Cream cheese and veggies (carrots, mushrooms, zucchini)
